A study of relationships between principal's transformational leadership and teachers' morale in elementary school
The purposes of this study were to explore relationships between principal'
s transformational leadership and teachers' morale in elementary school. The
fist were to explore the reality for principal's transformational leadership
and teachers' morale. Secondary, the researcher also investigated the
differences of teachers' demographic variables and schools' background
variables among principal's transformational leadership and teachers' morale.
Thirdly, to analyze the relationships among principal's transformational
leadership and teachers' morale. Finally, to explore predictive power of
principal's transformational leadership on teachers' morale.
This study employed the survey method. The subject were 750 teachers
randomly sample from 100 elementary schools in Taipei city, Taipei county and
Tao-Yuang county. Data were analyzed using the method of descriptive and
inferential statistics, included Frequencies, t-test, ANOVA, Correlation
analysis, and Multiple stepwise regression analysis. The major findings were:
1.There is above average perception for principal's transformational
leadership and teachers' morale among the elementary school teachers.
2.Significant difference existed among the gender, age, seniority,
position, school size, and school location for principal's transformational
leadership.
3. Significant difference existed among the age, academics degree,
seniority, position, school size, and school location for teachers' morale.
4. Significant difference existed among low, middle, and high teachers'
perception of principal's transformational leadership for teachers' morale.
5. Significant positive correlation between principal's transformational
leadership and teachers' morale.
6.In regression forecast of principal's transformational leadership to
teachers' morale, especially the variable of inspirational motivation has the
biggest predictability.
Based on the results of this study, to make some suggestions for
educational administration, the elementary school principals and future study. |
