 Profile

I get my Ph.D. degree in Operations Research from Department of Mathematical Sciences at National Chengchi University, Taipei, Taiwan. I am very interested in doing research works on management science, operation management and quantitative economics. So far, I have been involved in many research projects, including the design of management schemes on communication networks for bandwidth sharing, the modeling and analysis of security-check queues, the management mechanism and reliability measure in content-distribution systems, etc. My current research works are on the revenue management problems in communication systems and the queueing analysis of information/transportation systems. I study the resource allocation models and derive the solution analysis of these systems. Besides theoretical analysis, I developed related algorithms for solving these problems numerically. Managerial insights into these communication or queueing systems are obtained through the mathematical derivations and numerical verifications in my past and current research works. Some of these research works have been published in Management Science, Computers and Mathematics with Applications, Computers & Operations Research, International Journal of Information and Management Sciences, International Journal of Operations Research, Applied Mathematical Sciences, Lecture Notes in Computer Science, Proceedings of IEEE conferences, Proceedings of ACM conferences, proceedings of conferences indexed by ISTP or EI, and some book chapters, etc. Moreover, I have extensively programming experiences in CPLEX/ILOG, Matlab, Mathematica, GAMS, ProModel for solving managerial problems in queueing systems and developing algorithms in combinatorial optimization problems. Besides these mathematical software, I also have good knowledge of LaTex, Visual Basic, HTML, etc.
